Structures

The way structures are built depends on the forces that impact upon them.
  • What are forces?
  • What are structures?
  • What are the processes for building structures?
  • How does our knowledge of forces impact our creation of structures?

What are forces?

Forces experiments - in groups we will chose an experiment to do about forces.

Here is the rubric we are working towards:

What are the processes for building structures?

Later in the term we will be choosing a structure to research and find information about. You could pick a bridge, boat, plane, skyscraper, roller coaster, land marks eg: sky tower, eiffel tower, golden gate bridge, empire state building etc. You can buddy up with someone to help you research. Look up information about:
- purpose for building it
- how was is it built?
- how was is it designed?
- how long did it take to build?
- what materials were used?
Using this information we will write an information report about your chosen structure after we have learnt how to write information reports.
